Welcome to Writers Haven vers.3. Though the design and some of the content has changed, the site's purpose is still the same - to unite writers, artists, and rpers from all over in a homely community. I really hope you enjoy your stay! {Pay no mind to that Harry Potter reference in the design}
In due time, I will create a video tutorial on how to use proboards and what one can find on Writers Haven. This will stay blank until then.
When the staff list gets renewed, I'll also link to them here.
By spotlights, I mean important events, most notably the stuff I need members to participate in for the monthly newsletter. There will be links here when I start to plan November 2009's newsletter.
This is NOT the affiliation section. That's below. The links I will put here pertain to other stuff of importance, like really helpful writing sites.
I'm not exactly sure if I'll add a playlist, but I'm seriously considering it.

Writers Haven Monthly Newsletter|| « Thread Started on Oct 4, 2009, 4:25pm »
The moment you joined this site, you agreed - albeit without your consent - to recieve my montly newsletter. But that's a good thing. Below I will explain what will appear in each newsletter. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter, there is no way for me to take your name off of the sending list - you'll be receiving it anyway.
What's New?
Every month I'll try to have at least three new updates to the site - to show you (my members) that I am constantly trying to improve Writers Haven {WH} and to make sure that I stay on track. Suggestions for improvement can be offered in the Suggestions Thread. While I can not fulfill every request, and some requests will take a considerable amount of time to fulfill, keep in mind that I am trying.
Questions to the Admin
In the thread usually titled 'Questions for the Newsletter' (under the General Board or in the announcements) I ask members to ask me questions with these requirements:
The questions can be personal - as in my story (Savior of the Supernatural), career interests, etc. Just nothing pertaining to my love life or mental stability. They can be about Writers Haven or about writing. I will answer all the questions asked as long as they fit those rules above and the rule below.
One member only gets to ask one question each issue, so make it a question you REALLY want answered. If you ask more than one, I will choose one and disregard the others.
Prompt of the Month
There are plenty of marvelous places with writing prompts so, instead of me randomly coming up with prompts at the last minute, I'll post a prompt from other fellow sites that need the traffic. If you actually write a story based off of the prompt, there's a chance I'll post it here. {Hint Hint }
Critique That Story!
Every month I give the members of WH a chance to get the first three chapters (subject to change to only first chapter) of their story thoroughly critiqued - line by line and with an overview - by me, as well as get their story out there for more people to notice. What has changed is that I will no longer host it as a contest. Instead, I'll peruse through the Fiction Board myself, choose a story I think has an interesting premise, and go from there. If you want to recommend your story or someone else's, PM me. I will still consider it.
Spotlight
The spotlight is meant to bring websites, blogs, and contests in need of traffic out into the light. Sometimes I'll choose things that are already distinguished; other times I'll choose new sites that deserve members (if you decide to join a site after I've advertised it, make sure you tell them you heard from Writers Haven! We need the spotlight too, mind you.) This is also a way for members who have advertised their site or blog on WH to get known. If I feel there's a gem right under our advertising board, I won't hesitate to 'show some love.'
Tip of the Month
Every month, I write an article about writing. It will range from dialogue to plot to style to characters and so much more.
