Welcome to Writers Haven vers.3. Though the design and some of the content has changed, the site's purpose is still the same - to unite writers, artists, and rpers from all over in a homely community. I really hope you enjoy your stay! {Pay no mind to that Harry Potter reference in the design}

In due time, I will create a video tutorial on how to use proboards and what one can find on Writers Haven. This will stay blank until then.

When the staff list gets renewed, I'll also link to them here.

By spotlights, I mean important events, most notably the stuff I need members to participate in for the monthly newsletter. There will be links here when I start to plan November 2009's newsletter.

This is NOT the affiliation section. That's below. The links I will put here pertain to other stuff of importance, like really helpful writing sites.

I'm not exactly sure if I'll add a playlist, but I'm seriously considering it.

Sara looked into Neivuu's eyes for a few moments, trying to figure out if he was serious. An ever so slight look of sadness was in her gaze. "Thank you. Your offer means much to me, Neivuu," she then said calmly. A smile pulled at her lips, and she averted her eyes from his gaze. "We should go back to the group. I have no doubt that they're waiting for us," she then said. If anything, she felt safer now that she had Neivuu's support.

The two girls both shook their heads at once when Cleos asked if they had seen elves but then Eidran almost immediately ammended herself. "Wait, I see you and there's that other pointy eared elf that went that way with the other pointy eared elf, so that's... three? Wow, three elves at once? That's interesting!"

"I think he means besides himself and those two, Eidran. And I saw only one myself and that was a whole six seasons ago. I'm only nineteen seasons now, you know. I guess there's just not a lot of elves around anymore. I've not even heard much talk of elves. Oh, well, I guess there was that other one in that weird dream last night but I guess that wouldn't really count would it?"

Eidran was toying with Squishes short tentacles having left the conversation a few seconds into it but Rindareed and Sariel both at once stopped what they were doing and looked at the boy at the mention of dreams.

---
"It lightens my own heart to hear you say such." He replied smiling warmly now. "And I agree. I suppose with the distance we have gained the others might be rested enough and will want to continue on. I must admit I'd prefer to be in a settlement for once myself. Rindareed and I do a lot of traveling but nothing quite like this."

Quietly he returned the way they had come and was there just soon enough to catch the mention of dreams and the reaction of those around him at the subject was enough to give him pause. Eidran looked over her shoulder and waved at the both of them.

"Does this mean we're leaving now?"

Cleos was silent for a moment. He had not been the only one to experience such a strange dream, perhaps Sariel and the others also had such a dream. He stood up and pulled his cloths on over his wounds, tying his pouches around his belt underneath his tattered cloak. His left side was still tender from the Skiff crash, his shoulder a bit more painful than his chest wounds. “I guess it’s no secret all of us had strange dreams last night. Perhaps we can discuss it, but we should get going. From yesterday and today’s experience so far, I’d think that there wont be much of a pause of peace before there is another attack of some sort.” he said and adjusted his equipment, moving his bow so that it wasn’t leaning against his injured shoulder. Cleos mentally sighed as he took as last glance at the northern path, then turned to Sariel, Neivuu, Rindareed, and Sara, ready to get moving.

"Yes, of course." Neviuu said and began helping Rindareed with the now mostly unconscious Karashi. Sariel stood with a quick glance from Cleos to Rindareed. She had just learned quite a few things in the brief time she and Rindareed had been secretly conversing. All at once as if a key had unlocked something that had always been hidden inside the vague voices she had been catching in her head clarified into the surface thoughts of those around her. And she was still just struggling with the methods of control Rindareed had briefly explained, to keep out unwanted noise in her own head and in recognition of the fact that she might not want to know every thought around her.

"W-wait. I still haven't treated Cleos' wounds. The bites are small but they could easily get infected. And we should really make something to carry her in more easily if we have so far to go." She spoke up suddenly to forstall their leaving. She wasn't entirely sure why she wanted this but for the opportunity to straighten things out in her head and to talk things over with Cleos. It was getting more and more frustrating how one horrible or strange event after another kept them from having a moment to breathe and say anything to eachother. A look passed between Neviuu and Rindareed before the Silver Elf took the task of weaving something together for Karashi since he was the most capable for such a task. His expression alone said he would take as much time as Sariel needed, and mentally Rindareed began filling in the gaps. Sariel beckoned Cleos farther away from the others while trying not to make it too painfully obvious.

"I guess we're stayin for a bit, huh, Squish? Hey, let's go say hi to Iyti!" Eidran droned then hopped up to shove the rubbery creature towards the other Mystkin in his tree.

"Hey! No! Eidran you keep that thing away from me!" He protested as she prompty ignored him and climbed up after him. Keiti's face, bearing only the expression of fear and pain thusfar, lit up at Eidrans antics and she looked to be laughing but no sound came from her mouth but the barest whispers of air.

Sariel knelt next to Cleos and started to clean and dress the minor wounds as she said she would but she also whispered to him in a voice only he should be able to hear.

"Rindareed and I have been... talking. And he's told me a lot of things, things I'm not sure about. A lot of it makes me worried some of it downright afraid. He tells me I'm telepathic, that I can read the thoughts of others, perhaps the strongest he's ever met. I never even knew this. I don't remember hearing anything like thoughts on the island and... I don't think he knows I can also move things with my mind. He was so struck by this power I didn't even know I had that I couldn't bring myself to talk about that." Her eyes darted here and there as she whispered to Cleos and dressed his wounds, never resting on any one thing for very long. With the aid of Neviuu's kichi a strecher had nearly been preparred for Karashi to be carried on.

"But I think what really bothers me.. you know how I've always said the Prime Mage created me? Well that's all that I ever remember, being made to serve his purposes, but... Rindareed tells me that from what he can tell I'm 'just as Moredhai as any other'. He's living proof of what he says, and he says Moredhai like.. us, have been around thousands of years at least and no one made us. S-so.. why would the Prime Mage tell me...?" Her sentence trailed off and her eyes finally settled on Cleos, searching for an answer she knew he could probably not provide but wanting that nonetheless.

"All is well over here, now. We can go." Neviuu announced as he and Rindareed lifted Karashi between them, laid out on a strecher of foliage. "Personally I'm quite interested in hearing about a dream or two that may actually be more than it first seemed."

"I had a seemed dream!" Eidran announced finally ceasing her assault upon Iyti with Squish, who seemed an entirely neutral party to the event.

"I'm sure you did." The Silver said humoring her. "But let's save your dream for last, alright?"

"Hyta!!" She said dropping down from the branches, an unfamiliar Mystkin word. After wiping a bit of what looked like slime off himself Iyti helped Keiti onto his back again and joined everyone on ground level, keeping an obvious distance between himself and Eidran's rubbery pet.

Zacharias heard the man speak but asked nothing more about them. Gerados had already spoken enough for Zacharias to actually get a rather complete idea about the situation that this part of the world, that this race, was going through. The young male trailed off as he shifted his gaze to the side, once again staring at the trees that blurred as they passed.

As time went by a clearing would soon make its presence known before them. The place seemed to be rather desolate, there was not a single soul about. The horse would soon be commanded to come to a complete halt, ceasing its march, and Gerados would begin to set up. It seemed that this was a nice place for the man to open his little shop, temporarily of course, he was a traveling merchant after all. Climbing down from where he sat, Zacharias touched solid ground and stretched his limbs. He had been sitting there for quite some time and he was beginning to feel his limbs becoming numb. Zacharias began to walk a bit away from Gerados and his carriage and began to approach the tree line where the opening would end. He stared off at the countless trees, bushes, flowers and all that the human eye would cross to see amongst this vast forest. "Is there a village nearby?" There had to be one, or Gerados wouldn't be placing his shop in the middle of nowhere, it was only logical.

"There certainly is. Or rather something like a spring den? Average Mystkin wander all over their territory and the Hurkah are no different. But just as often they will built more permanent establishments to gather to, sometimes temporary seasonal places and the Hurkah are no exception. We've been in their territory for some time I imagine, if it really has expanded recently. This place is where I usually come for business around this time of year, would have been the edge of their lands only last year. I don't doubt they've been aware of my arrival for a while now but it's customary for me to approach their settlement first, for a meet with the current chief, approval if you will. Oh, be mindful, my cart and possessions are trapped when I'm away. Take care not to stumble into anything accidently."

Gerados finished another of his long monologues as if he felt he had to make up for the fewer words Zacharias spoke. He attached a feed bag to the great stallions harness and after gathering a few essential possessions inclined his head toward what looked to be only forest.

"My business lies this way. You are, of course, free to continue on foot or I could provide you a swifter ride as soon as tomorrow. I will likely be here several days at least so I'm sure we'd meet on your way back. If you'd care to stay for a while well I certainly won't turn down the company." Gerados recited any number of paths Zacharias could take from here but yet made no mention of the payment discussed much earlier that day. Even without earning his full trust Gerados had become somewhat fond of the strange quiet Zacharias. He was also likely the only other human he would see for a while yet.

Cleos listened to her talk, wincing only slightly as she would bandages his wounds. He smiled only slightly at her question. “Perhaps he just wanted to keep you safe from something. I do not know the answer, but I’m sure he lied for a reason for your well being.” He said, trying to reassure her and make her feel better. He gently hugged her, “Everything will be okay.” these words, he knew, were only lies to keep those in reassurance, to keep them from loosing hope from what was ahead. He knew, that these words could not possibly be true. A lie. Nothing more. However, these words just came, as he wanted to protect Sariel from breaking as he did. He did not want her to fall into the emotions he had experienced. Cleos forced a smile, but it held sorrow as he spoke, “We shouldn’t linger in this forest for much longer. I would like to leave before we get ourselves killed.”

Even so, it was still only morning, from what he knew, they could be out of the forest completely within a day or two. “I must tell you something, and please, do not ware of me from my words.” Cleos said. His heart ached, as his mind clouded, he could not tell which path he wanted the most. Safety, love, or home. Three different paths, one likely to destroy another. “I have not been truthful. I…have avoided such a subject since I was brought to the under tower.” He whispered. Cleos shifted uncomfortably, hoping no others could hear him. “I… use to live here, in this very forest.” He said, but a bit shamefully. “I was hoping… not to tell anyone. But.. I am from village Kanuaji, and Clan of Nasto Cormlle Tel’raa.” his words were ever so quiet and full of regret.

He was born into such a savage clan, one known almost worldly for their merciless pillaging and killings. Cleos, even as sweat as a child, was now just as his clan. Able to kill without mercy. His time with Ryan only helped him become more isolated from his emotions, more able to kill others. If it not had been for Sariel and his hidden love for her in the under tower, he would have been sure to have lost himself and unable to regain any sort of feelings.

“I am son of the leader of Nasto Cormlee Tel’raa, the youngest as my brother is the eldest and my sister the middle child. My father is, Thanion Veassen Naralmae. My surname you know now is only a fake one for when I or another dark elf is away from the forest. I am Cleos Sirant Naralmae, as my brother is Ryan Elmadris Naralmae. Renanhosn is just an elven word that means Great Forest.” Cleos fell silent as his gaze shifted to the floor. He hated his village and his family was no less hated, but he still wanted them to be there, for him to at least seek comfort in his father’s distaste. But that was no longer findable, for his village was gone, as well as his family.

“I am sorry for hiding this and lying to you. I do not wish to have been part of Nasto Cormlee Tel’raa, but my father would not allow my leaving until… until the day I was set out to steal something of great value. Sadly, I wasn’t much of a fighter or a sneaky one then, so I was captured and jailed by the issue of trespassing..” This caused a sad laugh from Cleos. The thought of him now getting captured for such a small offence was not likely, but he was back years ago. “I’m still not very skilled, I can’t contain my powers very well, as my fighting is only average compared to Ryan’s or my father’s. It is too bad that Tawar [Ancient Forest] was so damaged the time I was gone. Now it only seems to be as savage as Kanuaji…”

Though she continued to try to quiet and restrain her newfound telepathic tendensies thoughts trickled through the gaps in her suppression like rivulets of water. She could read the underlying meaning of what Cleos said, the words unspoken, adding a depth to what he said that she did not shy from as she shied from the thoughts of the others. Though she did not want to invade anyone mind she found she wanted to know everything Cleos had to tell her. He was uncertain of the Prime Mage's intent just as she was and she could tell he was lying. But she could also tell he was lying because he did not want her to feel pain and uncertainty and this alone was all that really mattered to her, that he would care enough to do so she did not begrudge the dishonest words.

She listened to his confession without saying a word, fearing anything she said while he revealed these things might shake his resolve. She wanted to know and even if it was not any happy knowledge she felt more comfortable to be that close to the real Cleos. Cleos Sirant Naralmae. It had a sweeter sound to it than Renanhosn, perhaps for only being his true name, perhaps something else. The truth of his past did not bother her, she found, but the sound and thoughts of sadness he had associated with that past and his present were what cut her. She did not have the power of empathy some Moredhai apparently did but she believed she could almost feel his sorrow without this. Perhaps that sadness resonated with her own despair in realizing she was perhaps nothing she thought she had been and had no past like any normal individual.

At his last whispered words she embraced him and suddenly found herself repressing tears she did not want the others to see and wonder at.

"Cleos I don't care what you might have been driven to do in your past, or keeping these things from me. I've already said I only want to be with you now. I meant it then, I mean it now, come what may I.. I am only for you." It was a strange feeling as she spoke those words, a sense of something breaking and reforging almost though completely beyond her understanding. And as if a map to the inner workings of her own being that were forever beyond understanding yet fundamental to her existence another symbol formed on her arm, this one a deep violet.

Not privy to the conversation themselves the others who had begun to move on again hesitated, unsure whether to continue on and let them catch up or wait just a few moments more for them. No one said anything, most of them sensing some kind of moment between them that it would have been poor form to interupt.

Cleos smiled a bittersweet smile, forced but also relieved. “Thank you… I..” He couldn’t conjure up the words to what he wanted to say. His eyes began to water slightly, blurring his red eyes as he looked down. He wanted to speak it, but he couldn’t. A force not his own keeping him from saying the words he wanted to scream. As he tried to speak, a pain started to throb in his chest. ‘d**n him!’ Cleos clutched at the ground, slightly hunched over. He was trying to speak of his mission, but he couldn’t due to a plagued curse. He bit his tongue, keeping himself from crying out in pain. It soon dulled and left him panting. “S-sorry…” He gasped, slightly grasping at his heart. He forced a reassuring smile, as if this was normal.

“We should.. Get going.” he urged, forcing himself to stand up, but he honestly felt a bit weak. And his actions betrayed his voice, he grimaced as he stood there, still panting a bit. Cleos was keeping something else locked away, but not by choice. Perhaps a secret even worse then the one he had just admitted.

"Cleos?" She whispered worriedly holding on to him as she could only tell he was unsteady. She could perceive that there was something else he wanted to say but that he couldn't for some reason. Not fully understanding she assumed it was something he found too difficult to share at the moment. She smiled slightly trying to convey with her expression that he should take his time, she would not push him. She helped him keep his feet and stayed by him as much for her own sake as his. The others started moving without saying anything at first, most everyone but Eidran feeling a twinge of curiousity at Cleos' brief and strange episode.

And so they travelled for the first time unharried by one monstrosity or another since the previous evening. As rindareed and Neviuu told it this kind of quiet uneventful travel was how things normally were for them and most people. Even with the sudden appearance of the mysterious beasts across the continent travellers were not often faced with many threats they said, even in the wilds. After some mostly mundane conversation it was Neviuu that eventually brought up the subject of dreams again and he offered his own experience of the night for comparison.

"This dream struck me right away for its sense of being real, physical. In my past dreaming I have always had a sense of there being no boundaries whatsoever and even solid things were soft as far as their dream existence was concerned. But last night I stood on a road at night in front of a strange lighted bridge and the ground at my feet felt solid to me. I also perceived that if I were to move in any direction but forward I would be met with some kind of boundary. As I only moved forward in my dream I never discovered the nature of those boundaries. And it was such a strange bridge, overgrown and made of metal in a shape I have never seen a bridge to ever be. It was lit by a pale, consistent, and silent light from two sources as if they were magic lanterns which I have seen before but these ones were a strange make. Passing beneath this bridge I set foot on a road of tightly packed tiny stones marked with two very faded yellow lines down its center. The path itself was badly cracked and the trees and bushes hung far over its edges as if it was decades old and untended."

Everyone's eyes were mostly on Neviuu as he started telling these things and in the eyes of Iyti, Keiti, and Rindareed was an expression of recognition as if the telling were describing their own dreams. Eidran seemed to have her attention on Neviuu just for the sound of his voice and Sariel only seemed to be in wonder, her own dream she could not recall. Neviuu paused as if considering how to continue and Rindareed was the first to add his own statement.

"My dream was in a different setting though this sense of realism you are describing, I felt just the same. It was like a dream but not at all like any dream I had known before."

"There was lights in my dream!" Eidran pipped up and for the most part she was ignored, even the people that had just met the girl understood already that she was a bit broken and what she said was not necessarily relevant. Indeed even she seemed to forget whatever she said shortly after saying it.
