Welcome to Writers Haven vers.3. Though the design and some of the content has changed, the site's purpose is still the same - to unite writers, artists, and rpers from all over in a homely community. I really hope you enjoy your stay! {Pay no mind to that Harry Potter reference in the design}
In due time, I will create a video tutorial on how to use proboards and what one can find on Writers Haven. This will stay blank until then.
When the staff list gets renewed, I'll also link to them here.
By spotlights, I mean important events, most notably the stuff I need members to participate in for the monthly newsletter. There will be links here when I start to plan November 2009's newsletter.
This is NOT the affiliation section. That's below. The links I will put here pertain to other stuff of importance, like really helpful writing sites.
I'm not exactly sure if I'll add a playlist, but I'm seriously considering it.
Sidebar code is copyright to Smangii. Various codes from Slightly Insane. The skin and sidebar headers are copyrighted to (KENZIE KRAPTASTIC). All character plots and characters are credited to respectful owners.
It is the year 1879: the Industrial Revolution roars, the International Aviators' Association governs the airways, and the dirigible Intellect readies for her marvelous step beyond reality.
Taking place during the Victorian Era, based upon the Steampunk genre, Intellect portrays an incredible world of gear and whimsy. The framing is rich with unique ideas and complex characters, open to creative expansion on the part of any member.
Take to the skies, and let sing the clockwork; for the realm of thought is strange and beautiful.

Wow...before I even start this review, let me just say that your site is extrordinarily beautiful....I mean, like, GENIUSLY beautiful. How did you get get it? Where did you find the skin and codes? I think I need to seek advice from you, dear.
Welcome Table
It's very unique and beautiful. I've never seen anything like it.
Colors, Graphics, and Icons
Everything seems to go perfectly together. The colors, the chosen graphics, everything.
Content and Layout
As I say with all boards RPG and writing themed, you have to go the extra mile in either graphics or content to get far. Those topics are very common. However, it seems you've done that (gone the extra mile) and have done that helluva well. I really like that you only have a spare amount of boards - that's always better than clutter. However, I also think that your spare amount of boards are almost TOO spare. It doesn't give members a lot of opportunities, which can scare potential members away. I saw the extraneousness board (I love that name, btw), but maybe you should add something more...perhaps a Free RPG section or something. Elbow space isn't bad.
Other Info
I can't think of any codes to improve your site, except maybe a cbox (Which could be as much a bad thing as a good thing.)
Overall
I think your site is the first site I've reviewed where I've ever been this blown away. When I write the next newsletter, your site will definitely be advertised!

I can say, on behalf of myself and my brother (Mister Appleton, as members shall know him), that we are absurdly pleased with your response. We never expected this kind of reception (the surprise is extraordinary), and greatly appreciate your feedback.
Regarding the board layout, indeed, few are in place for the moment, however we thought it may benefit us to slowly expand as it becomes necessary; I, personally, find myself intimidated as a new member by a plethora of places to visit, each with their own unique touches. As the site progresses, and we find use for added environments, we will build upon the current structure. For now, we hope to preserve the tailored fit to the smaller community.
Concerning the layout, my brother designed most everything, except the smaller icons (drawing upon an extensive image set). If ever Writer's Haven finds itself in need of Photoshop assistance, he would be honored to help.
Thank you for the offer regarding the newsletter. By means of such publicity, our member base should slowly build, and Intellect will be indebted to you (in the best sense).
A note to those members of Writer's Haven that have read this far: we do not, in any way, plan to abandon Intellect. The community you join will hold firm, even if none but the two of us remain.
Thank you, again, for the review. I hope this tie between Intellect and Writer's Haven will flourish, as there are such friendly people here (and certainly talented writers).

You know what I want to know? Why haven't I talked to you so extensively before this review? I have respect for all my members (even the questionable ones...). What type of admin would I be otherwise? But there are some members that just stand out in my mind, and I'm happy that I succeeded in creating a site that would attract such a person. You're one of those type of members.
It's an honor to represent your site with WH. When I go WH Vers.3, and actually find an affilitate box that works, your site will be going in there as well.
Too bad you don't have a writing section of some sort. I want to join, but I know I won't participate in a RPG consistently. Taking up space is something I don't like doing.
By elbow space, I didn't mean a plethora of places. I'm all about moderation in everything I do - too much is just as bad as too little. But I understand your position and do not plan to question it. I give suggestions and advice that I don't have the credentials to support. I'm a seventeen year old overachieving female, not a specialist in website contruction.
I fancy that I know what I'm talking about, though. lol.
Your site should pick up soon. I remember a time when WH had so few members and was dead for so many months that I seriously considered shutting it down. Though it is far from the best now, it has definitely picked up.

Goodness, I know not one thing to say but that I am sincerely honored. Thank you. Regarding our having not spoken before, I tend towards murmurs among forums. It is only natural that we speak along differing ways, but I am very glad that remains no longer the case.
Perhaps, as time goes on, we might add a small board for writing. It would only be logical, considering the subject matter. Though please know, we harbor no ill will towards you for not joining. As noted before, we bow, indebted to you for the wonderful attention and care you have given in dialogue.
And, considering your suggestion, we have begun adding additional boards. Perhaps we were arrogant in our previous assumptions, though it certainly seemed fitting at the time. You may begin to notice the content increase within the coming days.
As before, thank you. We wait in tremendous anticipation of what may happen next.
Ah! And what folly it would be not to commemorate Nusha for her membership. To she: if I seem at all flat upon the surface on the site, do know that shall not remain such for very long. I am simply in reserve, for the time being. We do truly appreciate your joining.

Aw. I do like the site, that's why I joined. It's very interesting, and, as Tiff said, it should pick up soon. I'll help in any way I can, if you need it; so don't hesitate to ask a favour of me.

Lovely! Thank you, once more. However, and I say this only because I am awfully particular, the website is called "Intellect," as opposed to "Intelligence." Such is a negligible difference, though it runs on the tongue in a distinct way.
And do pardon my absence on this site; these past weeks have been rather frenzied, though I shall make an effort to be more active in the coming month.
